Excited!!! In between working for clients I have discovered evidence that takes my ancestry back nearly 300 years. David Wait(e) (c.1738-1793) is my 6X Great Grandfather. He was a carpenter and lived from about 1774 till 1791 in New Inn Street, Shoreditch. This map, drawn in 1720 shows the Shoreditch he would have known. Look at the fields around The Curtain (later Curtain Road). New inn Street is marked with 76. My research continues. If I can help you, discover your ancestry please let me know.
